My First Post!

This blog has been a long time in the making.  I've been paper crafting for about 8 years now.  I've taught a lot of classes and sold many of my creations.  I took a 2 year break when I became pregnant with my youngest daughter.  I sure missed creating though!  My youngest baby is now old enough (20 months) that I can start spending a little more time in my scrap room!  I'm so excited to share my creations with you!

Just three months ago, we moved to the Yukon!  Yes, we are very far north!  We spent two months in a hotel (and with three kids that was a real challenge!).  I couldn't stand not to create a little something while I was there.  My first couple of card posts will be the cards that I made in the hotel.  I had very limited supplies, but I was able to do a lot with what I had!  So, here's the first card I made.  Can you tell I'm a big fan of Tim Holtz?

I layered the masks on the background paper and then sponged ink on starting with the darkest and moving to the lightest as I removed the masks.  I love the results!  It gives it a beautiful watercolour look!  I sponged in onto the Grungeboard bird and highlighted the wings with Smooch Spritz.  To make the ribbon match, I also covered that in Smooch Sprintz.  To add a little extra sparkle, I sprayed Glimmer Mist on the background paper and on the belly of the bird.

Tools:  Tim Holtz Idea-ology Masks: Timeworks and Flourish; Tim Holtz Grungeboard: Nature; Smooch Spritz: Navy Twinkle; Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist: Pearl; Tim Holtz Sizzix Die: Elegant Flourishes
Stamps:  Stampin' Up! Embrace Life
Embellishments:  Ribbon by K & Company, Rhinstone Stickers from My Mind's Eye

I hope you all have a fantastic day!  I'll see you again soon!
