Yesteryear Challenge

I made this card to enter into the Yesteryear Challenge over at Simon Says Stamp.  Their challenges are so fun!  Plus the prize is always a gift certificate to the store!  I'm still hoping to win!

Now, I'm not a huge fan of vintage images, but I found some at  Vintage Papergoods that are so pretty!  And they're free!

I started the card with this Blackthorn image.  The edges are inked and distressed to add texture.  Next I matted a couple of patterned papers cut in circles behind the image.  For interest, I added some faux stitching with a paper piercing tool and a dark brown marker.  The rose cardstock is embossed with Tim Holtz's Collage Texture Fade.  I sanded over top of the embossing and then sponged Vintage Photo Distress Ink over the whole thing.  The edges were darkened with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  For added dimension, I inked up some Grungeboard leaves and spritzed them with Apple Glimmer Mist.  The top leaf has Glossy Accents with a little glitter sprinkled on top.

I'll be away next week, so I'm not sure how often I'll be able to post, but I'll be back and crafting soon!
Have a wonderful day!
Hannah
