Snowboarding Celebration!

Before I go on holidays, I wanted to leave you with one last card!  I'll be out of the blogging loop over the next week, but I'll try to sneak on the computer to get a couple of posts in!  This card qualifies for several challenges so here they are:

The Time to Party/Celebrate challenge at Simon Says Stamp!  I love those challenges!  Each one is so interesting and there is a store credit prize!

The card also qualifies for two Splitcoaststampers challenges!  The Card Sketch 313 challenge and the Ways to Use It challenge 302

The Ways to Use It challenge was to pop something up on your card.  I thought it would be so cute if this cute Lily Snowboarder from Pink Cat Studio was three dimensional!  So I ended up colouring three of the image so that I would be able to cut out pieces.  To get the mittens popped up, I cut out the whole jacket with the mittens and glued the body of the jacket straight down with pop up dots under the mittens.  The board is up as well as that front knee.  I also love the popped up ski goggles!  To add dimension, I used a fine-tip black marker to put in a little shadow under the chin, mitten and snowboard.

The image was coloured with coloured pencils and the patterned paper is by Basic Grey.  The Rhinestones are My Mind's Eye and the cardstock and brads are Stampin' Up!  The rose coloured background is embossed with Tim Holtz's Cracked Texture Fade and sponged with red ink.

Here's the detail on the pop-up!  Happy New Year!
