Copic Chicks

There's a new challenge this week at Hambo Hoedown!  The challenge?  To make an easel card!  I only recently discovered the joy of making these simple but fun cards.  People I give them too are always delightedly (is that a word?) surprised when the card opens differently than they expect!  Plus, I love that it's easy to display your beautiful card when it's an easel card!  Awesome!  I used the very cute Silly Birds With Hats - digi by Hambo Stamps and coloured it in with my Copic Markers (pink-R24, R22, R20; blue-B97, B95, B93, B91; yellow-Y17, YR21, Y21; green-YG97, YG95, YG93; beaks & feet-YR18, YR15, Y17).  I have a small drawer full of random buttons I've acquired along the way.  I just chose a bunch of pink and brown ones to line up in a row.  First I painstakingly stitched embroidery thread through them so that they would look sewed on.  I love the effect of the random buttons!  I think it looks so much better than if they all matched!  I used my labelmaker to make a sentiment.  I thought I was addicted to that thing when I was just using it for labelling!

This is what the card looks like while it's closed.  Thanks so much for visiting today!
