Digital Sticker Tutorial

It may seem a little late for a Valentine's Day layout, but when else do you scrapbook your memories?  :)  My girls and I did some cookie decorating.  None of them were really in the mood to be photographed, but I was able to sneak a few pics!

The design team over at Prairie Fairy Designs has been changed up a bit.  Now there are two teams.  One team runs the Challenges while the other team runs the Tutorials.  I'm now on the challenge team!  So today I'd like to share a short tutorial with you!

One of the really fabulous things about the digi stamps you get from Prairie Fairy Designs is that a lot of them come with a coloured copy!  This is perfect for digital scrapbooking!  So my tutorial today is how to make one of those digital stamps into a sticker for your digital layout.   You can click on the images to make them larger when you need to.

Complete the rest of your layout, then add your digital stamp.

Hold down the control key and click down on the square part of the digital stamp layer in the layer stack.  (It's highlighted).  The outline of your digital stamp will now be selected.

Create a new layer directly under your digital stamp layer.  This can be done quickly by holding down the Control key and clicking on the new layer button (highlighted).

Go up the menu at the top of the page, click Select, then Modify and this little box will come up.  Enter in 35 and press OK.

Make sure your new layer (the one under the digital stamp) is selected.

Using your paint bucket, fill the selection with whatever colour you wish.  I've used white.  The paint bucket will fill with whatever colour is set for your foreground (the lower highlighted portion).

Let's add some drop shadows.  Select the digital stamp layer and double click on it in the layers palette. Check the box that says drop shadow (at the top).  If you can't see the details of the drop shadow as shown here, just click on the words "drop shadow".  Adjust your settings how you like them.  Press ok.  Also add a drop shadow on your new, white layer.

Doesn't your sticker look great?!

Thanks so much for visiting today!
