Happy Birthday Surprise!!!

I know I just wished Christy from Tiddly Inks a happy birthday a couple of days ago.  Well, that was the formal celebration.  Today is the surprise post because today is actually her birthday!  It's going to be a fun day of multiple posts and prizes at the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog.  So make sure to check things out today!!

I made this card just for Christy!  I used Everyday Princess because with all the cute/goth images that Christy creates, I felt that this image would suit her best.  I chose some bright and playful colours, but made sure that dark brown was in there to add fun contrast.  The music tissue tape is for the Happy Birthday song, the "C" charm for Christy's name, and the heart is for the theme today "From the Heart".   I couldn't call the card finished until I had my 7 year old's stamp of approval.  You see, my Emily is quite convinced that she and Christy are kindred spirits.  How else would Christy be able to draw all those cute images with just enough edginess to them?  Emily squealed with delight when I showed her the card and would only let it go to Christy, "Cause, she's so awesome, Mom!"  Haha!

We love you, Christy!  Your images are divine and you are so generous with them!  Thanks for all you do!

And thanks to everyone else for visiting my blog today.  I hope you have a great one!

Happy Birthday, Christy!

First off, let me say, "Happy Birthday, Christy!"  Today, the design team at Tiddly Inks are celebrating Christy's birthday!  If you don't know who Christy is, well, she's the creative genius behind Tiddly Inks!  She draws all these adorable images that I love so much!!!

This image is Happy Birthday Girl by Tiddly Inks.  I coloured her with Copic Markers (I really need to get better about making a note of the colours).  The designer paper is Basic Grey, cardstock and ribbon is SU, flower is Prima, and the twine is from The Twinery.

Ooh La La!

Today's SCS Ways To Use It Challenge is to use a rub-on.  Mine is the small flourish in the bottom right of my card.  It's from Basic Grey and is so gorgeous!  The digital stamp is Corset available at Can You Digi It?  Isn't it pretty!  I coloured it with Copic Markers.  The designer paper is all Basic Grey (Out of Print Collection) and the ribbon is SU.

The Red Dress

I love this fabulous Gossemere image from Tiddly Inks!!  As soon as I saw her, I wanted to put her in a deep red dress!  So I coloured her with R89, R29, R27, and R24 Copic Markers.  The Prima metal flower was the wrong colour, so I coloured it with those Copic Marker too.  The flourish is also from Prima.

Tea Time!

Just a quick post today.  I love this cute Do You Care for Tea? digi from Can You Digi It?  I coloured it with Copic Markers.  I punched a hole right out of the image and adhered it to a Tim Holtz Idea-ology Fragment.  I popped the whole thing up to give the card more dimension.  I used some Maraschino Twine, a Prima flower, and an SU slit punch for the scallop border.

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Best Friends!

Today's challenge at Tiddly Inks is to make a card for your best friend!  I have so many really good friends  that it was hard to choose!  However, my upcoming crafting weekend with Karlene, has her on my mind!  She's got a sweet little dog named Lola that I thought of when I saw that little white dog in this image!

This card was so fun to make!!!  I decided to play up the playful goth feel in the Dogs R Fun image from Tiddly Inks by colouring the hair bright orange!  I coloured the whole image with Copic Markers (Hair-E35, YR18, YR15, Y17; Dress-BG07, BG05, BG02, BG000; Shirt and tights-R27, R24, YR18; Skin-E34, E21, E00; Big Dog-E47, E35, E34, E21; Small Dog-C4, C2).  I centered the colours around this sheet of designer paper I found in my scrap bin.  Usually with an image like this, I'd love to add something fun around the circle of the image, but scallops tend to be too cute.  So I distressed the heck out of those scallops to give it a much more grungy feel.  The metal circles are from the jewelry department at Walmart.  I thought they looked like some of those best friends necklaces or rings.  :)  For even more detail, I added scraps of rickrack, distressed at the edges, and some cute Prima Flowers with SU Rhinestone brads.  The sentiment was just printed from my computer.

Thanks so much for visiting!  I hope you have a wonderful day!

Sugar Shack

One of the things we really look forward to here in the Yukon is Rendezvous!  It's a couple of days of celebrating smack dab in the middle of February (we gotta get through the winter somehow)!  People come from all over the world to compete in snow sculpting, fire dancing, beard growing (yep, I'm serious), flour sack throwing, that sort of thing.  My family's favourite thing was the Sugar Shack!  Those maple popsicles are so yummy!

I made the layout, mostly with the papers from Carina Gardner called La Petite Paperie Basile

Speed Baking

Last night I joined a speed scrap at Jessica Sprague.  It was fun!  I created this layout in one hour and forty minutes!  Ever think you can have an adrenaline rush while scrapbooking!  I did!  Haha!  Most of the supplies are from Basic Grey's Euphoria Collection.

Super Boy!

I never make enough boy cards!  That's why I decided the challenge this week for the Splitcoaststampers Ways To Use It challenge should be Boys and Their Toys.  I found this fun image called Superduper Boy by Mo's Digital Pencil.  Isn't he adorable?!  I coloured him with Copic Markers.  I added a Grungeboard star that I painted with white craft paint and then sponged with red ink (SU's Cherry Cobbler, Riding Hood Red, and Real Red).  The ribbon is SU's denim ribbon and the brads are also SU.  I just coloured in the stars with a R29 Copic Marker.

The Gamer

I laughed so hard when I saw this fun Gamer image from Tiddly Inks!  This boy is tilting his head in exactly the same way my husband does when he's playing video games!  I made this card for my brother in law, who's also into video games, for his birthday.  I kept things simple with just added distressing, twine and brads (and of course striped DP).
