Be Mine

I've been wanting to use this handsome fellow since I first saw him!  He's Charles and he's available at Tiddly Inks.  I coloured him with Copic Markers (Suit-C9, C8, C6, C2; Skin-E21, E00, E000; Hair-E47, E99, E97, Y21; Tulip, Shoes & Pink Strip in Hair-R24, R22, R20). The challenge this week at the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog is to create a Valentine's Card for a special someone.  Now I didn't create this for me to give to someone, but a friend of mine needs a card to give to his girlfriend.  Isn't it cute?  I added a pink stripe to Charles' hair to give it more of a teenager or punk feel.  The flower is made from the Tim Holtz Sizzix Tattered Flower Die.  The paper is actually from Wal-Mart.  I don't remember the brand name.  My husband got it for me for Christmas!

Other supplies used:  Kaisercraft Pearls, SU Vintage Brads, SU Cutter Kit, SU Ribbon, Bazzill Black Cardstock

My Darling

Okay, seriously, this is the colour of my youngest daughter's hair!  Isn't it fabulous!  She gets compliments wherever she goes and in her cute little 2 year old voice always answers, "I know."  Haha!  She's in a stage right now where she thinks she doesn't need a nap, but she ends up crashing on the couch all the time.  She looks so sweet when she's sleeping!

Okay, on to the project.  The new challenge at Prairie Fairy Fridays is Anything But a Card.  That's easy for me!  I've been practicing my digi-scrapping skills!  The cute fairy is Fairy Rose by Prairie Fairy Designs.  Isn't she sweet?  All the other digital elements are from Jessica Sprague.

Will You?

My Mom keeps asking me for wedding cards.  Apparently, all of her friends' kids keep getting married!  While many wedding cards are beautiful and elegant, I think for a younger couple, it's nice to add a little bit of trend in there too.  The last wedding photo I saw, the bride had a white dress and hot pink shoes.  The groom had a black suit, hot pink tie and hot pink socks.  I wish I could show you the photo!  So, this card is inspired by them.  I gave the groom the pink shoes though.

The image is Will You - Victorian Couple by Tiddly Inks.  I coloured it with my Copic Markers (Pink-R24, R22, R20; Dress-BG000, C2; Suit-C9, C8, C6; Skin-E21, E00, E000; His Hair-E47, E99, E97, Y21; Her Hair-E49, E47, E35, E34, E21).  Other supplies:  Bo Bunny DP, SU Cardstock, ,Prima Metal Flower, Kaisercraft Lace, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, SU Border Punch, Crystal Stickles.

It's All About Me

I'm trying to spend more time digitally scrapbooking.  I need to practice these new skills I'm learning so that I can remember them!  I really wanted to enter the Keeping It Reel challenge at Jessica Sprague.  The challenge is to use a movie line for a title.  This was actually tough for me because I already had a sense of where I wanted this layout to go.  So it really was a matter of finding the right movie quote (harder than I thought).  This layout combines a lot of different elements.  I'll try to list them all.

Gotta Love Twine!

I'm joining Michelle at Can You Digi It? with a product spotlight!  The product is Twine!  I'm actually new to twine, but I'm loving it!  Plus, the twine at Can You Digi It? comes on cute little wooden spools!  Love it!  On this card, I've used Caribbean and Maraschino.

I used the cute Cupcake image and coloured it with Copic Markers (R89, R29, R27, R24, R22, BG15, BG13, BG11, BG10, E49, E47, E35, E34, E21).  I couldn't believe it when I found this cupcake paper from My Mind's Eye!  It matches perfectly!  I added some texture and then buttons from my stash to finish everything off.

Extra Stitching

It's time me to host another Ways To Use It challenge!  The theme this week is Sew Beautiful.  The idea is to use stitching or a sewing theme on your project.  This is mine.  It's fairly simple.  I crumpled up the paper after I stamped the flower image to give it a more vintage feel.  I'm not even sure who made this fabulous paper.  I only have bits and pieces of it left.  I just love how it looks!  I used a zigzag stitch all over.

    Reaching For The Stars

This week, we have a colour challenge at Tiddly Inks!  I made this tag for a gift for one of my daughter's friends.  I just love the pretty Fairy Fae Catches a Star!  I coloured her with Copic Markers (colours listed below), added some Crystal Stickles to her wings, and Glossy Accents to the stars.  The yellow stars are Grungeboard die cuts that I painted white and then inked yellow.  I covered them with Glossy Accents too.  The beautiful flower and rhinestone flourish are both from Can You Digi It.  I printed the sentiment out on my computer.

    Love Layout

I just love playing along with these Basic Grey sketches!  Here's this week's:

Plus, I wanted to practice a technique I just learned in a Jessica Sprague class.  I'll show you a closeup:

It started out as just a plain digital stamp.  I added texture and colour to it.  I love how it turned out!  Most of my supplies are from Basic Grey's Euphoria Collection.  Most of the embellishments are from Shabby Princess.

Friends Are The Flowers of Life - Tiddly Inks Blog Hop!

Today we're having a blog hop for the Tiddly Inks Design Team and Friends!  This is a special kind of blog hop that you can join!  All you have to do is make a card using a Tiddly Inks image, post it on your blog, and link it back to the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog!  There are fun prizes available, so make sure to check out the challenge blog for details.  Also, one lucky commenter will win a free image for visiting me today, so please leave a comment here and check back after the blog hop to see who is selected. The image Christy donated is Wryn - New Wings (the image I've used on my card today). Other members of the DT may be offering a single image as a donated prize also, so check out the other blogs too!  You can find all the links on the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog.

So here are the details on my card.  I made this one with the super sweet Wryn - New Wings image.  I coloured her with Copic Markers (colours listed below).  I always love the combination of distressing and lace, so I have that here on my card.  But I just left the crocheted lace as tabs on the side of the image.  Isn't Wryn sweet?

    California Dreaming

It's my turn to host the challenge at Prairie Fairy Fridays.  As I look out my window at the snow that keeps piling up, I can't help but think that maybe it's time to move to California!  So the challenge this week is inspired by the song California Dreaming.  I chose to do a summer card, but really any kind of warm or dreamy card would work!

This cute image is Swingin Summer by Prairie Fairy Designs.  I love it!  I coloured her with Copic Markers (colours listed below).  I just printed out the sentiment on my computer.  The flowers are rolled roses from My Favorite Things Mini Rolled Roses Die.  I added some sparkle with Crystal Stickles and put a jumbo brad in the centre.

    Supplies:

    Sticker Challenge

One thing I don't use a lot of is stickers.  Today's Ways To Use It Challenge is to use stickers.  I searched through my stickers and found these cute squares by Creative Memories.  They've been in my stash for ages so it's nice to get them used up!

The image is Make a Wish by Mo's Digital Pencil and I coloured her with Copic Markers (colours listed below).  I added some Crystal Stickles to the dandelions for extra sparkle.  The flower is made out of some scraps of canvas.  I cut them out with the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals Die.  After building the flower, I dyed the whole thing with a healthy spritzing of Suede Glimmer Mist and scrunched the flower as much as possible.  After it dried, I added some Crystal Stickles along the edges of the petals.

    Copic colours:
    Skin:  E21, E00, E000
    Hair:  E47, E99, E97, Y21
    Shirt:  R24, R22, R20
    Skirt:  E49, E47, E35, E34, E21

    A Fun Announcement!

I have a very exciting announcement to make today!  I'm joining the Tiddly Inks design team!  I absolutely love these fun images.  I can't wait to play more with them!  Today, the challenge on the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog is a celebration theme.  My baby sister is a Halloween fanatic.  Her home is decorated like Halloween year round.  So when her birthday comes around, I always make her a Halloween card.  She loves it!  When I saw this cute Spooky Birthday girl I knew it would be perfect!!!  I coloured her with Copic Markers.  The top of the cake had a spider on it in the original image but because of my fussy cutting, I couldn't manage the spider.  So I used part of a metal flower charm that I had in my stash.  The paper is Basic Grey and the flowers are made from the Tim Holtz Sizzix Tattered Florals Die.

    Thanks for visiting today!
